Practical Tips for Underfloor Heating

Underfloor heating works differently from regular radiators. Here are some tips:

  • Our system ensures an even temperature in your home. Note: underfloor heating takes longer to warm up than traditional radiators. Therefore, we advise against lowering the temperature at night or when you're away. Be careful when drilling or screwing into the floor, as the underfloor heating is just underneath.
  • If you accidentally hit a pipe, unfortunately, you'll have to bear the (usually expensive) repair costs yourself.
  • Some floors work better with underfloor heating than others. Usually, a stone floor works best. With carpet or wood, the heat emission may vary depending on how well the floor conducts heat.
  • Consult the seller when choosing a new floor and inform them that you have underfloor heating. To optimize the underfloor heating, enough floor space must be kept free. It is advisable to keep at least 40% of the floor clear of furniture.
